I compose music for the ensembles I know best—concert band, string orchestra, choir, and chamber groups—with a particular dedication to developing musicians. Much of my work is written for beginning performers, blending accessibility with strong pedagogy and genuine musical substance. At the same time, my catalog includes small-ensemble and intermediate-level works designed to challenge and inspire growing artists.

My music is published by Imagine Music Publishing and soon by T.U.X. People’s Music, and I also self-publish through ArrangeMe under the name Music Preparation Services (soon to become John M. Licari Music).
