Hudson Valley Professional Musicians is a premier performance ensemble founded and directed by John M. Licari, providing high-quality live music for parades, community celebrations, corporate events, and private engagements throughout the Hudson Valley and beyond. The organization represents the coming together of two respected traditions: Professional Musicians of Orange County, under the longtime direction of Tom Kane, and the Middletown City Band, led by Tom Barone. Upon their retirements, Licari was entrusted with carrying forward the musical standards, community relationships, and spirit of service established by both ensembles. While deeply respecting those longstanding traditions, Hudson Valley Professional Musicians has forged its own new path—expanding repertoire, modernizing operations, and refining its professional model—while maintaining the polished sound, reliability, and dynamic presence that have long defined its performances.
